EVERYTHING ABOUT ERASMUS+
We welcome all Erasmus Plus partnership approaches from various universities. Also, if you are an international student and would like to study at MCBU but your home university has not yet signed an Erasmus Plus Agreement with our University, please let us know about your intention of coming to MCBU. The MCBU students, wishing to go to the European Universities within Erasmus Plus Programme should contact their departmental Erasmus Coordinator and International Office.
What is Erasmus+
Erasmus+ (2014-2020) is the new 14.7 billion euro catch-all framework programme for education, training, youth and sport. It combines all the EU's current schemes for education, training, youth and sport, including the Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius, Grundtvig), Youth in Action and five international cooperation programmes (Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and the programme for cooperation with industrialised countries). It is divided into 3 principal pillars: education and formation, youth, and sport.
What is changing with the Erasmus+ Program?
Erasmus + Program does not differ greatly from the current program in terms of basic objectives and activities. However, some changes are foreseen in order to increase the efficiency of the current program and to make it easier to apply and to have a simple structure. We can list the innovations that come with the Erasmus + Program as follows:
* Comenius, carried out within the scope of Lifelong Learning Programs, is gathered under the heading of Erasmus + Program by including Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig programs, Youth Program and 5 international cooperation programs (Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and Cooperation Program with Industrialized Countries). With a single program, simpler application rules and procedures are introduced, and the piecemeal structure and duplications end.
* A grant guarantee program is being initiated to support students who have completed their postgraduate education in order to continue their education abroad and to acquire the skills necessary to work in a knowledge-intensive job.
* Cooperation with Industrialized Countries in the Higher Education Area (Bilateral Cooperation), which was implemented in the previous period, remains among the central projects of the Erasmus + Program, including the youth field. However, the scope of the countries that can be cooperated is expanding. (For detailed information about the countries that can be cooperated, please see the Erasmus + Program Guide).
* Large-scale partnerships (Knowledge Partnerships) to increase creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among higher education institutions and businesses by introducing new teaching methods (Partnerships between education and training institutions / organizations to increase employability through innovative vocational education-training methods for sectors) creation is provided.
* Mobility and partnership opportunities are strengthened significantly in the new period and grants are increased especially for higher education / vocational education students, teachers, trainers and youth workers.
